Ingredients
Shortening 1/2 cup
Sugar cup
Egg yolk 1 number
Molasses 1 cup
Baking soda 2 teaspoons
Salt teaspoon
Flour 3 cups
Ginger (ground0 1 tablespoon
Nutmeg 1 teaspoon
Vinegar 1 teaspoon
Boiling water cup
Method of Preparation
Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Add sugar, shortening and cream together in a bowl. Now add molasses and egg yolk and mix well.
Add baking soda, flour, salt, nutmeg and ginger and stir the mixture well. Keep ready the vinegar-water mixture by adding vinegar to water. Now add evenly the flour mixture to the shortening mixture alternating with boiling water duly stirring the mixture as you add the flour and water.
Drop the heaped mixture or the dough using a tablespoon over a greased cookie sheet leaving a space of 3 inches between cookies. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow cooling time and store in an airtight container.

Ginger ale, grape juice, cola or orange drink may be used. Place small ball of ice cream in bottom of tall glass. Half fill with beverage and mix with ice cream. Add another ball of cream and fill glass to within 1 inch of top with the beverage.

Eggs (medium) 2 numbers
Sugar 3/4 cup
Ginger (ground) 1/4 teaspoon
Vanilla 1/2 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Melted butter 1 tablespoon
Baking powder 2 teaspoon
Quick cooking oats 1 cup
Method of Preparation
Heat the oven and bring it to 350F. Keep ready a large cookie sheet covered with ungreased foil. Take a large bowl and add eggs. Beat till you get frothy mixture. Add sugar, vanilla, ginger and salt.
Mix well for few minutes till all the sugar get dissolved.
Blend in butter and baking powder, then fold in the oats. Apply or drop the batter over the cookie sheet using rounded teaspoon and leave 2 inch space between each teaspoonfuls of batter dropped.
Start baking continuously for 10 to 12 minutes or till the edged turn to golden brown. Remove all the cookies gently from the cookie sheet and transfer to rack for cooling.With the above procedure and ingredients, you can make around 25 cookies.

Prepare cookie mix according to directions. Roll or drop. Brush with egg white very slightly beaten. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, and chopped nuts if desired. Bake according to directions on cookie mix package.
