Learn to make tasty Nut Horns in ten easy steps


Ingredients for Dough:
Flour (all-purpose) 4 cups
Salt teaspoon
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Margarine 1 cup
Egg yolks 3 numbers
Cream (sour) 1 cup
Yeast (dry) 1 package
Ingredients for Filling:
Egg whites 3 numbers
Sugar (granulated) 1 cup
Nuts (ground) 2 cups
Vanilla 1 teaspoon

Method of Preparation

Combine flour and salt together in a bowl and sift together. Disperse yeast over flour. Cut margarine into pieces and add. Make a pit in the middle of the flour mixture and pour beaten egg yolks, vanilla and sour cream. Knead well with fingers and make it smooth. Keep in refrigerator for one hour.

For filling, take beat egg whites in a bowl until stiff. Add sugar, nuts, and vanilla, mix well and set aside.After removing the dough from refrigerator make it into a ball and lay so as to resemble a thick pizza crust. Now cut the laid dough into 8 triangles.

Roll each triangle to make pie crust of 10 inch size and then cut into 8 triangles. Place to 1 teaspoon of filling at wide end, and roll to form crescent shaped rolls and pinch ends with fingers for sealing.

Place al the crescents over ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 375F for 15-18 minutes.
