Method of Preparation
Mix yeast, water and keep aside for 5 minutes until bubbly. Add butter milk to yeast mixture and keep aside. Take a large bowl and mix dry ingredients, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Now add butter milk mixture to dry mixture by stirring well to make the dry ingredients are moistened well. Put dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly for about 3 to 4 times. Roll dough to inch thickness cut into 36 rounds or with desired biscuit molds with a 2 inch cutter and keep them on non-stick baking sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes. Crispy and tasty biscuits are ready to serve. Makes about 36 biscuits. Serving 1 biscuit. Exchange: 1 bread and 1 fat.
